The crew and passengers abandoned the aircraft, as reported by Jornal de Notícias (JN), and one of the airline's employees was injured.

The plane was scheduled to depart at 4:20 pm, bound for Stansted, London. However, as reported by JN, the pilot reported difficulties starting one of the engines. However, the situation was resolved, and the passengers boarded. After boarding, the pilot reported detecting engine overheating and declared an emergency.

Around 5:16 pm, the incident was registered, and the Gago Coutinho Airport's Preliminary Intervention Plan was activated, leading to the mobilisation of over one hundred emergency and rescue resources.

Then, according to JN, the plane's side jetways were deployed so that passengers and crew could proceed. It was at this moment that one of the crew members suffered injuries to her face and arm and was taken to Faro Hospital.

After an inspection, it was confirmed that there was no suspicion of fire on board, and the rescue services were demobilised at 5:45 pm.
