Tourism revenue in Portugal reached €29,131 million, while spending by Portuguese citizens abroad was €7,155 million in 2025.

The balance thus reached €22 billion, a record value in the statistical series that began in 1948, representing 7.2% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Data by nationality

According to the Bank of Portugal's highlight, "those responsible for the largest tourism revenues in Portugal were tourists residing in the United Kingdom (€4.3 billion), Germany (€3.4 billion) and France (€3.2 billion)".

The data released by the Bank of Portugal are figures for the year-on-year rate of change, both for spending by foreign tourists in Portugal (also known as exports or credits), and for spending by residents of Portugal when travelling to other countries (also known as imports or debits).
