Presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships, the show is everything you ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage and lovers, but were afraid to admit.
Among the cast of nine lending their talents to the show are some newcomers to the Lagoa stage. Lara Salter remarks, “It’s been a joy working on this fast-paced, comic exploration of romantic relationships. The music is as varied as the characters, and it’s been a pleasure to work with The Algarveans, who are such a talented and welcoming group.”
First time performer with The Algarveans, Tom Murphy says, “I’ve never sung in front of a large audience before, so this is a challenge but one I'm loving! Some scenes will have people laughing out loud, but there are others where there won’t be a dry eye.”
Veteran Algarvean performers Tracey Christiansen, Frank Remiatte, Alan Smith and Angela Theobold all agree that performing with a live band delivers extra zing and praise director Paul Legault for the energy and experience he brings to rehearsals.
