The tool allows immigrants to renew their Residence Permits that expire during May and June 2026 online.
The agency asks foreign citizens who find themselves in the situation described above to use the portal at portal-renovacoes.aima.gov.pt to renew their residence permits.
Currently, the portal can only accept renewals for permits expiring in May and June 2026, so it will be updated later to add the remaining months to allow more people to use it.
According to AIMA, the aim is "to anticipate the opening of the portal for the coming months, to meet the needs of citizens," as stated in a press release published on social media.

People from 2023 and 2024 are still waiting to get their Residence Permit Renewed, while AIMA is all up to cover it's weakness by showing off how quick they are.
Even if they open the portal to register the expire dates, I am 100% sure these people will be found waiting until 2027.

AIMA has not even dispensed with renewing documents that expired in 2025 and even before. Applicants have no way of knowing where they stand on progress of renewal applications submitted several months ago having
undergone biometrics procedures. The agency seems to have no oversight mechanisms and no where to solicit for help.

This is the exact same online renewal website that has been out for months. Still a disaster.
