The collaboration marks a significant milestone in BSL’s journey and reinforces the school’s ambition to be a world-leading provider of British education in Lisbon and brings additional strength, expertise and global connectivity to BSL.

Founded in 2019, the British School of Lisbon has rapidly established a strong reputation for academic excellence, personalised learning and outstanding pastoral care. The school currently educates students from Nursery through to Year 10 and continues to expand in response to increasing demand from both international and Portuguese families seeking a high-quality English-language education.

In September 2024, BSL opened its second campus, BSL Restelo, a major step in the school’s long-term development. This expansion firmly established BSL as a leading international school in Lisbon and will enable the school to grow through to Year 13, offering a complete secondary education pathway.

The original BSL Cais do Sodré Campus serves students from Nursery to Year 5. The Restelo Campus caters for students from Year 6 upwards and is growing in a carefully planned and sustainable way, with new year groups added annually. The school’s first Year 11 cohort will begin in September 2026.

BSL delivers the English National Curriculum with the ambition of matching the standards of the UK’s top independent schools. Students in Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) are prepared for IGCSE examinations, and in Key Stage 5 (Years 12 and 13) the school will offer an enhanced AS Level and A Level programme, opening pathways to leading universities in the UK, Europe, Portugal, the United States and beyond.
