This year's edition of Abril em Odemira – Festival da Justiça e Liberdade (April in Odemira – Justice and Freedom Festival) will take place between 11 and 26 April, transforming this municipal seat in the Beja district “into a stage open to culture and civic participation,” the municipality revealed in a statement.

According to the local authority, “the festival reaffirms Odemira as a culturally dynamic and creative territory, offering visitors and the community moments of celebration and conviviality, without forgetting the civic importance of the April commemorations.”

The municipality, the event's promoter, added that “for several decades” it has “annually celebrated the values and achievements of the April Revolution, mobilising thousands of people through a vast program of cultural and sporting activities that has become a reference in the region.”

The festival program, which counts on the collaboration of several national, regional, and local partners, includes dozens of events, ranging from music and literature to exhibitions, debates, theatre, cinema, sports, performing arts, and activities for children.

Music is one of the highlights, with concerts by Samuel Úria, A Garota Não, and Os Quatro e Meia on the night of 24 April.

The following night, the band Ganso and the local group Moços do Mira are scheduled to perform, accompanied by several guests.

As in previous editions, the Odemira City Council will provide a digital application (‘app’) that will allow visitors to “consult the complete program and access practical information about the different spaces, schedules, and activities, facilitating participation and the experience of those visiting the town.”
