According to the same news outlet, there was a 22% increase on 3 March. In other words, the price of natural gas exceeded US$53 per megawatt-hour (MWh), the highest value since February 2025.

Data from Bloomberg indicates that at 7:17 am, the price of natural gas to be delivered in one month to the Dutch market had risen 22%.

The price of gas is rising as a consequence of attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran, one of the main producers of crude oil, which controls the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway of significant importance for oil and gas traffic.
