The districts of Lisbon, Leiria and Coimbra will be under a yellow warning between 9 pm on Thursday, 5 March, and 3 am on Friday, 6 March, due to rough seas, then changing to orange until 7 pm on Friday, with forecasts of northwest waves of 5 to 6.5 meters in height, possibly reaching a maximum height of 11 meters.
Also, due to sea conditions, the IPMA issued a yellow warning for the districts of Setúbal, Porto, Faro, Viana do Castelo, Beja, Aveiro and Braga between 9 pm on Thursday and 7 pm on Friday.
Porto, Faro, Setúbal, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Beja, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga will also be under a yellow warning between midnight and 7 pm on Friday due to strong winds with gusts of around 70/80 kilometres per hour.
The IPMA (Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere) has also placed the districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco under a yellow warning due to snowfall above 1,400/1,600 metres altitude between 9 pm on Thursday and 7 pm on Friday.
The north coast of Madeira Island and Porto Santo are under a yellow warning until noon today due to rough seas, with northwest waves expected to reach 4 to 5 meters.
