The Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica was one of the competitions presented during the Cascais Press Preview 2026, an initiative organised by Cascais City Hall in partnership with Cascais Tourism. The event brought together media professionals for the official presentation of the main events that will form part of the municipality’s calendar next year.
The inclusion of the PSCI reflects the growing recognition of the series, which is now among the international events Cascais plans to promote in 2026.
The 2026 season of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica will feature two rounds at the Estoril Circuit, the warm-up at the Estoril Circuit on 28 March, and the grand finale at Estoril, from October 30th to November 1st.
José Monroy, Series Manager of the competition, says the calendar design reflects a clear vision for the new season: “We wanted a calendar that would challenge drivers and teams from the first to the last weekend. The warm-up at Estoril, the variety of tracks, and the return to Estoril for the grand final create a strong narrative for the season. We believe that 2026 will be another year of great intensity, competitiveness, and spectacle, reflecting the continued growth of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica.”
Beyond its sporting dimension, the event also plays a role in the municipality’s broader strategy to promote Cascais internationally through sport and tourism.
Estoril’s Motorsport Legacy
Over the decades, the Estoril Circuit has established itself as a significant venue in the history of motorsport. It has hosted major championships including Formula 1, the World Rally Championship, MotoGP and the World Superbike Championship, among many other international competitions. This legacy has helped position Cascais and Estoril as territories closely linked to motorsport culture, where speed, innovation and competition remain part of the region’s identity.
At the same time, Cascais is internationally known for its cosmopolitan environment, its connection to fashion and tourism, and its reputation as a premium destination. For organisers, this setting complements the positioning of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, combining on-track performance with a distinctive Porsche-branded atmosphere.
The presence of the PSCI at the Cascais Press Preview 2026 reinforces the competition’s position within the municipality’s international events calendar. Alongside other major initiatives, the series continues to grow in terms of audience reach, media attention and partnerships.
A Growing Presence in Cascais
For José Monroy, Series Manager of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, this recognition reflects the competition's development.
“Being among the major events presented by Cascais for 2026 is a clear sign of the path we have been building. Estoril and Cascais are part of the history of world motorsport and represent a rare balance between tradition, elegance and passion for racing. It is precisely this spirit that we want to reflect in the PSCI: a demanding and exciting competition, but also an experience where performance, class and emotion coexist naturally.”
Nuno Piteira Lopes, Mayor of Cascais, said the event has strengthened the municipality’s connection to motorsport and the Estoril Circuit.
“The Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica has established itself as a high-impact event for the municipality, reinforcing Cascais’ historical connection to motorsport and the Estoril Circuit. The success of the event in 2025 brought international visibility, audience, economic dynamism and a premium image aligned with what we want for Cascais. In 2026, we will reinforce this commitment with two races, confident that the PSCI will continue to be a benchmark competition on the Iberian and European motorsport calendar.”
With two rounds scheduled for 2026, culminating in the Grand Finale at Estoril, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica is preparing to return to Cascais and Estoril, bringing top-level competition back to one of Europe’s most historic motorsport settings.
