When you walk through the streets of Porto at the moment in early Spring, you may encounter a sudden burst of pink!

The magnolia trees are currently blossoming, and are more than just seasonal flora; they are living architecture. Even though the trees are millions of years old, they are not native to Portugal. Originally coming from China, they are a result of the Portuguese seafaring.

It is interesting that we have this tendency to recognise beauty in nature, especially within cities. These trees and their colours serve as a great reminder to us that beauty is truly within everything.

Next time you pass a blooming branch, allow the colour to reframe your day. After all, the space we inhabit defines the thoughts we cultivate. And what does that piece of colour do to our consciousness?
