Mercadona supermarkets entered Portugal in 2019, and the company has already invested more than €1.23 billion in the country. In 2025, an investment of €140 million was made to strengthen the supermarket chain's presence in Portugal.

Executive Digest also reveals that the company's overall net profit rose 75% to €1.729 billion, marking the fourth consecutive year of growth and making it the market leader.
