As great a smell as Eucalyptus trees carry with them, and as great as they are for the economy of the country, especially in recent years, Eucalyptus trees have become a thorn in the eye of the people, as their flammable nature and water-draining properties have aided in the spread of wildfires. Especially when planted in monocultures, Australian native trees have caused some issues.
As the country looks toward a more resilient future, the challenge remains: how to balance the industrial necessity of this fast-growing tree with the urgent need to restore the native, fire-resistant forests of the past.

That was so very informative. Thanks for the effort.

I don't believe eucalyptus is a necessity at all. It's a non native ecologocal disaster and the government should help growers transition to more suitable livelihoods.
