The main program of the first edition of Pombal Jazz was scheduled for the last weekend of January, but the destruction caused by the bad weather forced the postponement, according to the organisers, the ARCUPS association and the municipality of Pombal.
“Unfortunately, due to the change of dates, it was necessary to alter the original lineup of the festival,” added those responsible for Pombal Jazz.
Due to scheduling issues, the “Origins” concert by César Cardoso was not possible. Instead, André Fernandes will perform in Pombal as part of the “Motor II” project.
Pombal Jazz kicks off on the 20th with a children's activity at Casa Varela in the early afternoon. In the evening, at the Pombal Municipal Auditorium, Leon Baldesberger presents the show “Meersalz,” followed by a jam session at Casa Varela.
On the 21st, in the morning, the Dixie Naza group brings 1920s jazz to the streets of Pombal.
In the evening, the Municipal Auditorium hosts “Motor II” by André Fernandes, followed by another jam session at Casa Varela.
On the 22nd, João Oliveira is scheduled to give a guitar masterclass, closing the festival in the afternoon with a final concert by the participants of the big band & improvisation workshop at the Municipal Auditorium.
