Six mainland districts are under a yellow warning on 16 and 17 March due to predicted rough seas, with northwest waves expected to reach 4 to 4.5 meters, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The warning for the districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Leiria, Aveiro, Coimbra, and Braga will be in effect from 3 pm today, 16 March, to 12 am on Tuesday, 17 March.
The IPMA also issued a yellow warning for the Faro district between 9 am and 3 pm on Tuesday, with forecasts of southeast waves of 2 to 2.5 meters.
