The 25-year-old Portuguese athlete secured victory with a best jump of 6.92 meters, achieved on her fifth attempt in a highly competitive final. After opening with 6.73 meters, she built momentum with a series of consistent jumps, ultimately producing the winning mark when it mattered most.

Her triumph places her alongside Naide Gomes as the only Portuguese athlete to win a world indoor title in the event, ending an 18-year wait since Gomes’ victory in 2008.

Italy’s Larissa Iapichino came close to overturning the result with a final jump of 6.87 meters, earning silver, while Colombia’s Natalia Linares took bronze with 6.80 meters.

This gold medal marks Portugal’s 18th podium finish at the World Indoor Championships, its sixth gold, and the nation’s first at this year’s competition.
