The IPMA said that the island will experience northeast winds with gusts of up to 80 kilometres per hour (km/h) in the eastern and western extremes and up to 110 km/h in the mountainous regions.

In a statement, the IPMA added that the yellow warning will be in effect at least until 9 pm.

On 29 March, the wind affected landings and takeoffs at Madeira International Airport, diverting about a dozen flights and cancelling seven arrivals.

On 30 March, according to information from ANA Aeroportos, 13 flights to the island of Madeira were cancelled, both domestic and international. According to reports, the last plane landed at the airport at 9:45 am, but flights scheduled for later have already been cancelled.
