There will be free performances and events across 11 municipalities, promoting music, theatre, dance, photography, and literature.
The Médio Tejo Intermunicipal Community (CIM), based in Tomar, Santarém district, organises the project. This year, the focus is again on cultural decentralisation and active community participation. The project engages audiences of all ages in a variety of artistic activities, CIM announced.
The programme starts on 1 April in Tomar. Victor Valente’s photographic exhibition, 'Momentos de Abril,' opens at the Cineteatro Paraíso. The exhibition remains on display until the end of the month.
In April, the programme will also visit Ferreira do Zêzere with the show 'Bonecas de Constância,' aimed at schools. In Torres Novas, the band Cremalheira do Apocalipse will perform at Teatro Virgínia.
On the 30th, the programme is split between Alcanena and Sardoal. Alcanena features the play 'Corpo Suspenso.' In Sardoal, the dance performance 'Comoção' will be staged.
In May, the initiative moves to Mação for a performance by the Adufeiras of the Idanha-a-Nova Ethnographic Group. Afterwards, Pedro Chagas Freitas will lead a writing workshop in Ourém.
The “Coro dos Comuns” project, which involves community participation, returns with performances in Abrantes on the 3rd and Vila Nova da Barquinha on the 9th, having visited several municipalities in 2025.
The cycle also includes activities in Constância and concludes in Entroncamento on 23 and 24 May, with a breakdance workshop culminating in a group performance.
The Caminhos project, launched in 2017, involves the 11 municipalities in the region and forms part of the strategy to promote the cultural and tourist value of the Médio Tejo, being co-financed by European funds under the Centro 2030 programme.
