“This open presidency of mine has this double meaning: to verify the things that are still very delayed and to witness many of them that are moving forward and that are rebuilding. I come here to listen in order to speak, and above all I come to see what went well, what went wrong, the support that is arriving, the support that is delayed,” he told journalists at the end of a visit to the recovery works of the Hotel Montanha, in Sertã, the first item on the agenda of his open presidency.
Seguro left “a word of hope” and showed that “this tragedy is not stronger” than the “conviction, energy and belief in this country and in these territories”.
“I appeal to all Portuguese people, when planning their holidays, to consider that a weekend or a week in these beautiful inland landscapes is a help, an encouragement, and an expression of solidarity with those who have suffered so much for about two months,” he appealed.
The President of the Republic said that “the purpose is to accelerate support so that it can arrive as quickly as possible.”
“And also, to stimulate recovery and, above all, to give people assurances that they are being heard so that their problems can be solved,” he pledged.

Will he spend his family holidays there? I hope I am wrong but this man is a worse mummy than Cavaco Silva. How to stand him for 5 years? This country needs dynamic, upbeat and agile people, not the doomed dreadness it is used to.
