Ohana Market is a pop-up market happening in Porto. This varied market can be found in places like Praça das Cardosas or Mercado do Bolhão. It’s a special market because it aims to give space for Portuguese brands and artists. It’s very different from big tourist shops.
This market was created in 2023 by two cousins, Catarina Ribeiro and Margarida Miranda. They wanted to bring together small national makers in the city centre. The name "Ohana" means family in Hawaiian. Each edition features 150 to 200 brands offering clothing, art, sweets, and gifts.
Pop-up markets are a great way to find smaller brands that don’t usually appear as much in the mainstream malls, so if you would like to support local artisans.
Ohana Market shows the dedication of two people to their community and the love they have for authenticity. Have you visited Ohana Market? What's your favourite pop-up market in Porto?
