According to a statement, "periods of rain or showers, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms" are expected throughout the country, along with rough seas, with northwest waves reaching 4 to 5 meters in 10 districts, roughly from this afternoon to Wednesday afternoon.

Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon, Setúbal, Beja and Faro are the regions that may be affected by precipitation and stronger swells simultaneously between 7 and 9 April.

Madeira Archipelago

The Madeira archipelago is under an ‘orange’ warning, the second most severe of three levels, due to the forecast of strong winds and rough seas between Wednesday, 8 April, and Thursday, 9 April, but IPMA has already placed both islands at the ‘yellow’ level.

The north coast of Madeira Island, Porto Santo, and the mountainous regions of that autonomous region will be the most affected, between 3 pm on Wednesday, 8 April, and 12 pm on Thursday, 9 April, with wind gusts ranging between 80 and 110 km/h and waves between four and seven metres.
