This is a crucial first…
In a message published on the social network X, the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanks Pakistan for its mediation and "the efforts of all its partners in the negotiations."
US President Donald Trump announced on 7 April that he had agreed to suspend bombings and attacks on Iran for two weeks, in a "bilateral ceasefire," after receiving a "viable" peace proposal from Tehran.
Later, Iran's Supreme National Security Council confirmed the two-week bilateral ceasefire with the United States and reported that negotiations for a peace agreement would take place in Pakistan starting on 10 April.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but Portugal is no longer a powerful empire. It's a small, poor country, and its government's opinions about matters elsewhere in the world are of no importance.
