According to a note sent to the Lusa news agency by the former head of state's office, the new website, Gabinete Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa (www.gabinetemrs.pt), will report on the former President of the Republic's activities.

The same note states that on Tuesday, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will "begin one aspect of his intervention in the area of education." He will inaugurate the "Series of Lectures and Debates" for primary and secondary students at two Águeda schools.

The lectures, sessions, and debates in the schools will focus on: "Education, vocation, future."

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s official website announces next week’s "Libraries Cycle." The theme is "Is reading in fashion?"

In this initiative, students ask questions and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa answers. The conversations are held in school libraries.

During his second term, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa repeatedly stated that upon leaving office as Head of State, he intended to visit primary and secondary schools across the country. He promised not to speak about politics again and added that one of his priorities would be reading and discussing books.
