As many of you know, next Sunday's ride will be a little different due to the recent passing of one of our old regular riders David Hooton.

David used to live close to Cerro de São Miguel and regularly rode up this hill, so for Sunday's ride, we will take David's ashes up the hill and scatter them near the summit. This seems like an appropriate final resting place for him.

His family and a close friend will be over, and they would like to meet riders afterwards for a drink in Olhão.

We will meet in Olhão near the Ferry Terminal, and park if you can in this car park, here:

We will meet at 9.15am for a 9.30am start.

We will ride to a cafe in Azinheiro and take a break there before continuing to the summit. There will be two groups, one led by Angus and one by me. After the ride, we will meet for drinks in a bar near the ferry terminal or the marketplace.

Please let me know if you would like to come along, as it helps if we know numbers in advance for the rides, and also to let the cafes know.
