Speaking to journalists at the end of the bi-weekly executive meeting, João Rodrigues stated that more than 60 road paving projects are ready to start in the coming weeks or are "in the process" of finalisation for launch this year.

"Due to the winter, we raised the investment from €10 million to €20 million," he said.

The council approved the award of a € 379,000 contract to the contractor to partially repave Avenida Miguel Torga and Avenida Doutor Francisco Salgado Zenha in Nogueira.

According to the approved proposal, the work will be completed within 60 days.

He emphasised this work as the first step in thoroughly addressing Braga’s roads and sidewalks, responding to the city’s clear needs.

The mayor mentioned that more than 4 hectares of road paving are now underway, with interventions also underway in Largo Conde Agrolongo, Avenida 31 de Janeiro, and Largo da Estação.

He added, “Paving can only be done in good weather.”
