This represents a significant increase compared to the €20.5 million authorised last September, reflecting a clear commitment to consolidating partnerships with private entities operating on the ground.

The main objective of this measure is to strengthen the integration of migrants in Portugal by building on the experience of the Mission Structure for the Recovery of Pending Processes. In a statement, the Executive underlines that this budget increase will allow the synergies already created to be leveraged to streamline support for migrant communities, ensuring that cultural mediation functions as an effective bridge in the reception process.

The amendment to the multi-year expenditure authorisation, now approved by the Council of Ministers, ensures that AIMA has the necessary resources to maintain these strategic partnerships until 2028.

With this investment, the Government will strengthen its response to immigration challenges by focusing on proximity and social integration through mediators who know the needs of target populations.
