After seven consecutive weeks of increases, DECO PROteste reveals that the basic food basket has decreased by €2.37 compared to the previous week's values.

Compared to January 2026, consumers spend €16.69 more to buy the same essential products, as defined by DECO. In 2025, the same products cost €19.10 less in total.
Despite the fall in the basket price, food prices rose, especially for fibre cereals, which increased by 16% to €4.36. Lettuce also increased in price by 13%, averaging €2.69. Sliced bread without crust also increased by 8%, reaching an average price of €2.59.
