More broadly, over the past five years, Portuguese exports as a whole have shown consistent growth. In 2024, total exports increased by 4.2%, reaching a record €133.1 billion. Within this, the UK stands as Portugal’s fifth-largest export market, underlining its importance as a key trading partner.

Against this backdrop, the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK will host its 2026 Gala Dinner in London on Tuesday 2 June 2026, bringing together a select group of senior business leaders, investors and decision makers , in order to explore the next phase of the UK–Portugal investment relationship.

Taking place at the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly, London W1, the theme of the evening will be Portugal Futures and is designed as a discreet forum for high-level business discussion and exchange.

The Gala Dinner will bring together a select group of senior business leaders, investors and decision makers, all with a shared interest in the evolving cross-border trade relationship between Portugal and the UK.

Two well-known business leaders will address the dinner guests on their perspectives on Portugal’s investment landscape and their outlook for the future.

One speaker will be João Bugalho, Chief Country Officer at Arrow Global Portugal, which currently has 3,000 employees and Euros 13bn assets under management in Portugal. The other speaker will shortly be confirmed.

Together, these speakers will explain why Portugal continues to attract significant international investment, and what the future perspectives are for their businesses in that region – giving the audience an unparalleled opportunity to hear this information first – hand, in a discreet environment.

The dinner will also honour the fact that 2026 is the 640th anniversary year of the signing of the Treaty of Windsor in 1386 between England and Portugal. This makes it is the oldest active peace treaty in the world, which has established the enduring alliance of mutual support, friendship, and trade between the two countries that is still evident today.

Beyond the formal programme, the evening is designed to create a discreet and high-quality environment for meaningful conversation. It will be a strong opportunity to connect with peers at a senior level, exchange views, and build relationships within a carefully curated group of attendees.
