Faro Airport was noticeably busier this morning, with travel clearly picking up as we head towards the higher tourism season. Despite the increase in passengers, the experience was still relatively smooth. Security was straight through with no delay, which made a big difference at the start of the journey. There was, however, a line at the outgoing passport control, and the electronic gates were not open at the time. Even so, the queue moved steadily and took around ten minutes to clear.

It’s a good reminder that while things are running efficiently now, that can change quickly as volumes continue to rise. Faro is a small airport handling a growing number of users, especially during peak periods. If you’re heading through in the coming days or weeks, it’s worth allowing a bit of extra time, particularly for passport control, just in case queues build unexpectedly.
