The 2026 list, compiled by The World’s 50 Best Beaches, places Falésia Beach among the best beaches in Europe.

Falésia Beach has been accumulating accolades, having already been ranked the third-best beach in Europe in 2026 by TripAdvisor.

Now that summer is approaching, the beach is once again being recognised, occupying the eighth place among the best beaches in Europe.

The mayor, Rui Cristina, says that the distinction allows “to value the heritage of the municipality, and to show that it is worth visiting Albufeira”.

For classification purposes, the opinions of more than 1,000 professionals in the sector are taken into account, who consider criteria such as the preservation of spaces, natural beauty, and water quality.

Falésia Beach is the highest-ranked Portuguese beach, followed by Seixal Beach in Madeira and Camilo Beach in Lagos, ranking 23rd and 27th, respectively.
