Known as "golden visas," and their families, indicating that the correct association of the Tax Identification Number (NIF) with the applicant's registration is now an indispensable condition for renewing permits on the Renewal Portal.

Without this properly validated information, requests to update expired documents cannot proceed. This measure aims to simplify and streamline administrative processes, ensuring that the database reflects the real situation of investors in Portugal.

Review the data

According to the agency's guidelines, investors should review their data in advance and, if the NIF is not included in the permit or contains inaccuracies, request correction through the official AIMA contact form, waiting 2 working days after the update before completing the registration on the portal.

This procedure also allows updating other essential data, such as address, email contact, Social Security Identification Number (SSN), and Health User Number.

Holders represented by lawyers or solicitors may provide the contact details of these professionals for processing purposes, provided that the representatives include the Tax Identification Number (NIF) and the registration number of each applicant.

It is important to note that updating your Tax Identification Number (NIF) and Social Security Number (NISS) on the portal does not exempt you from presenting certificates proving your regularised status with the Tax Authority and Social Security, or proof of non-registration, when applicable.

With this new requirement, AIMA emphasises the need to regularise the processing of personal data to ensure the validity of processes and proper coordination among the various public entities involved in immigration management in Portugal.
