The app, called River Beaches, is now available for free on the App Store and will also be available on Google Play within a few days. It is also available in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

According to a press release, the app contains more than 130 registered Portuguese beaches, with photographs and descriptions. In addition, it also includes tips to improve the visitor experience, teaching them how to make the most of the beaches. In the app's filters, users can choose their preferences to find beaches with restaurants, restrooms, lifeguards, parking, and whether they are kid- and dog-friendly.

The company responsible explains in the press release that 50% of the app's profits will be used for river restoration and water retention projects in Portugal, in order to help preserve the natural beauty of the river beaches so that future generations can also enjoy them.
