With a total score of 68.54, the highest among the top ten countries, Portugal stands out for offering a rare combination of affordability, robust hospitality infrastructure, and an ideal climate for year-round outdoor celebrations.
According to Kunal Madan, CEO of the platform, the country offers a more accessible luxury experience than destinations like Greece and Italy, without compromising the quality or the setting of the ceremony.
"The rise of destination weddings reflects a clear shift in how couples are choosing to celebrate, with more prioritising meaningful experiences abroad over traditional local ceremonies. Across all destinations analysed, the most successful wedding locations consistently balance climate, accessibility, tourism infrastructure, and value for money", he states.
"Portugal stands out at the top of the ranking, offering couples a rare combination of affordability, strong hospitality infrastructure, and ideal year-round wedding weather. Compared to other leading destinations such as Greece and Italy, Portugal delivers a more accessible luxury experience without compromising on quality or setting", Kunal Madan adds.
Portugal's success in this ranking is largely due to the excellent value of its luxury stays, with a median cost of €176.50 per night in 5-star hotels, and to its privileged weather conditions, such as an average annual temperature of 21°C and 2,806 hours of sunshine.
The study methodology evaluated countries with favourable climates, focusing on the density of luxury hotels, global research interest in weddings in the country, and the ideal temperature range for guest comfort, situated between 15°C and 24°C.
This distinction reflects a shift in couples' preferences, who now prioritise meaningful international experiences in locations that balance accessibility, tourist infrastructure, and a stable climate.

Portugal is the best for everyone but the Portuguese.
