RFM SOMNII 2026 reaffirms Figueira da Foz as the world capital of electronic music

With a renewed focus on family inclusion and cultural decentralisation, the biggest sunset festival in Europe is preparing to break attendance records at Praia do Relógio.

Praia do Relógio will once again be the epicentre of world electronic music in July 2026. The 12th edition of RFM SOMNII Intermarché was officially presented at the Vila Galé Hotel, revealing a lineup that combines the legacy of the genre's biggest names with the social impact of new phenomena in contemporary culture. Among the most anticipated announcements are the return of Dutch DJ Hardwell, ten years after his historic beach performance, and the participation of Father Guilherme, the priest who traded the isolation of the altar for the universality of the dance floor.

An affirmation of values

Tiago Castelo Branco, Executive Director of MOT, emphasised during the conference that this edition is not just a musical celebration, but an affirmation of values. By inviting Father Guilherme, who today has more than three million followers and an unprecedented organic trajectory, the organisation intends to dedicate the "Stage of Dreams" to a message of hope and inclusion. The priest, who maintains his duties as a parish priest and military chaplain, explained that his presence at the festival is an extension of his mission: to use Techno, a style he describes as vibrant and capable of awakening positive mental alerts, to communicate with a generation that often feels marginalised from traditional languages. In his set, electronic rhythms will merge with messages inspired by Pope Francis' encyclicals, in a journey that promises harmony and inner peace at sunset.

International component

The international component of the festival will be bolstered by Hardwell's return. According to the organisation, the DJ readily accepted the invitation to celebrate this decade of connection to Figueira da Foz, recalling one of the most memorable sets of his career. He will be joined by Timmy Trumpet, the artist who, after the impact registered the previous year, was the most requested by fans in internal surveys to return to the main stage.

For the municipality of Figueira da Foz, represented by councilwoman Cláudia Rocha, RFM SOMNII is living proof of the Central region's capacity to host global-scale events, escaping the polarisation of large urban centres. The strategy involves transforming the city into a destination that combines natural beauty with new concepts of international entertainment. An example of this is the logistics setup at Praia do Relógio, which, the weekend after the festival, will host names like Luís Represas, taking advantage of an infrastructure that includes, in the middle of the beach, unusual elements such as swimming pools and a fully equipped gym for festival-goers to enjoy.

A family event

One of the key points of this edition is consolidating the festival as a family event. Tiago Castelo Branco reinforced the policy of free admission for children up to 12 years old, a measure that has been bearing fruit and has allowed, in previous years, hundreds of families access who would otherwise face logistical barriers. "These kids are our customers of the future," the organiser stated, highlighting the importance of creating community memories in a safe and respectful environment.

Economy and culture engine

With ticket sales exceeding expectations and surpassing 2025 records, RFM SOMNII 2026 positions itself not only as an entertainment event but also as an economic and cultural engine for the country.
