According to a press release sent to The Portugal News, “Salsa Jeans launched its operation on TikTok Shop in Spain, becoming one of the first Portuguese brands to operate on the platform's new shopping channel, in an early stage of its European expansion.”

According to the same source, TikTok Shop will allow brands to sell their products on the app, “without users needing to leave the platform to complete the purchase.” The information also reveals that “the functionality integrates different sales formats, including a standalone store, videos with identified products, live streams, and a dedicated shopping area within the app.”

Mara Carvalho, Digital Director at Salsa Jeans, quoted in the statement, says that “entering TikTok Shop reflects the evolution of our digital strategy and the growing importance of social commerce in fashion retail. We want to keep up with changing consumer habits and explore formats that bring content, community, and shopping closer together in a more integrated way. Being present in this initial phase also gives us the opportunity to test, learn, and consolidate skills in a channel with strong growth potential.”

In an initial stage, “the brand provides a broad portfolio of products, in an approach focused on demand analysis, purchasing behaviour, and adaptation to the dynamics of this new channel. The selection of featured items will be worked on in conjunction with partner content creators.”

TikTok Shop is expected to arrive in Portugal in the coming months, and Salsa Jeans intends to operate in Portugal, through the same means, “integrating social commerce as one of the priorities of its digital strategy.”
