In a press release, the Funchal municipal authority (led by the PSD/CDS-PP coalition) stated that, during this phase of the program, 23 families received support, benefiting a total of 64 residents.

The families receiving support reside in the parishes of Imaculado Coração de Maria, São Martinho, São Gonçalo, Santo António, Monte, São Roque, Santa Luzia, and Santa Maria Maior.

The +Habitação Program—which provides financial assistance to families for the purchase of construction materials and home furnishings—has been allocated a budget of 325,000 euros for the current year.

The initiative is funded by the Funchal City Council—the principal municipal authority in Madeira—and is administered by the Santo António Development Association.

The municipal authority emphasises that, "in addition to its focus on the construction of new housing units, the municipal executive remains committed to improving the living conditions of existing homes."

"This represents yet another response from the municipality aimed at fostering more dignified housing, thereby promoting improved standards of safety, comfort, and sanitation for the families we support. Through this assistance, our primary objective is to enhance the well-being and quality of life of our residents," underscored Helena Leal, the City Councillor responsible for Social Affairs, as quoted in the press release.
