According to Revolut, the new hub will create jobs within sales, marketing, operations and support. It is intended to strengthen the company’s operations in the Iberian Peninsula by complementing Revolut’s existing sales centres in Madrid and Barcelona, as reported by Executive Digest.

Revolut has been present in the Porto area since 2020, and the new office in Matosinhos is designed to accommodate the growth of the local teams.

Porto supports Revolut’s European growth

Revolut Business is establishing itself as one of the group’s fastest-growing segments, and these specialised teams will support business clients in several international markets.

According to Afonso Cabral Leitão, Sales Country Manager Iberia at Revolut, Revolut Business is evolving far beyond payments: “Today, we help companies manage money globally, optimise cash flow, simplify expenses, and accept payments through a single platform.” He also emphasises that Porto will play a key role in expanding the company’s ambitions across Europe, adding that Revolut Business is building "specialised sales and marketing teams.”

Accelerating across global markets

With revenues growing more than 50 percent year-on-year, representing around 16 percent of the company's global revenue, Revolut Business currently generates around one billion dollars in annual revenue. It offers services such as international payments, treasury management, expense control, and multi-currency transactions.

The company also recently launched Portuguese IBANs, in addition to full integrations with MB WAY and Multibanco.

Portugal as a strategic hub for Revolut

The Mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro, considers the new hub to be "an honour," crediting the municipality’s work on attracting investment and talent.

The General Manager of Revolut Portugal, Rúben Germano, highlights that "Portugal has become one of Revolut's most dynamic markets globally," and that the operations in Matosinhos reinforce the company’s long-term commitment to the country.

“The talent, international mindset, and growing technological ecosystem we find here make Porto the natural location to support the next phase of Revolut’s growth in Southern Europe,” he stated.

Revolut surpassed two million customers in Portugal this year, making the country one of the company’s fastest-growing markets.
