According to Executive Digest, EDP, REN, NOS, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Novo Banco, CTT, Altri, Corticeira Amorim, The Navigator Company, Sonae, and Toyota Caetano are included in the ranking, which distinguishes companies in Europe that have demonstrated the best performance in reducing emissions and the greatest commitment to climate change.

In total, 600 European companies were analysed, with the evaluation focused on reducing direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions between 2019 and 2024.

The same media outlet also reports that criteria such as the reduction in carbon intensity, measured in tons of CO2 equivalent per million euros of revenue, were considered in the evaluation.

The climate commitments that the companies made over the past five years were also considered. For the evaluation, data from CDP and Science Based Targets were considered.
