The announcement was made by the leader of Chega at a press conference at the party headquarters in Lisbon.

André Ventura said that the party wants to "guarantee that anyone with 40 years of contributions can retire, regardless of age," and lower the retirement age to 65, as he has been advocating in recent weeks.

Chega will also propose that "million-euro pensions be limited to €4,500 per month" and that no one in the public administration receive a salary higher than that of the Prime Minister.
