The lineup for this concert series, organised by the Gaia City Council and the production company Ritmos, features Brazilian artists such as Maria Luiza Jobim, Tulipa Ruiz, and Ana Frango Elétrico, who blend influences from MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), jazz, electronica, indie, and experimentalism.

The initiative also presents Portuguese projects such as Nunca Mates o Mandarim, Asa Cobra, Hot Air Balloon, RABBIT, Femme Falafel, and Nuno Lopes, who explore psychedelic rock, post-punk, electronica, spoken word, as well as reggae, dub, and soundsystem culture with Bezegol, Ponto de Equilíbrio, and Real Rockers Hi-Fi.

According to the organisation, “these are names that have contributed to the renewal of contemporary music sung in Portuguese.”

“The project promises to bring the public together in special moments celebrating music and the community in this emblematic space,” the organisation states in a press release.

Morro Sonoro was created to be “a meeting point between music, the city, and the community, valuing public space at sunset,” it adds.

With free admission, the initiative offers 12 concerts to promote access to culture and celebrate current musical diversity.
