During his time on campus, Aatif met with the school’s leadership team to discuss the next stage of ISS Lisbon’s growth, reflecting on the school’s progress, its identity within the wider Dukes Education family, and its role in Portugal’s international education landscape.
Aatif highlighted the school’s international character, recognising the diversity of its students as one of its greatest strengths. With families from many different backgrounds, International Sharing School Lisbon (ISS Lisbon) continues to offer a learning environment where students are encouraged to develop as globally minded, confident and compassionate individuals.

He also emphasised the importance of delivering a world-class, inclusive education, where every student is supported academically, personally and socially. This commitment is reflected not only in the school’s approach to teaching and learning, but also in the relationships built across the community and the care placed on each student’s individual journey.
A key part of the visit focused on the school’s learning environment. Aatif recognised the intentional design of the campus spaces, created to place innovation at the centre of the student experience. From flexible learning areas to technology-rich environments, the school continues to develop spaces that support creativity, collaboration and forward-thinking learning.

The visit also celebrated the school’s academic direction, including its world class results, a 45 perfect IB DP score, the very best value-added score and the recent IB re-evaluation process. As an IB Continuum School, ISS Lisbon continues to strengthen its commitment to inquiry-based learning, international mindedness and a holistic educational experience from the early years through to the diploma years.
Innovation was another important theme of the visit. Aatif spoke about the school’s innovative electric car racing team, the Bufori Evie, as an example of how ISS Lisbon combines tradition, experience and future-focused thinking. The project reflects the school’s belief that technology should be placed at the heart of learning, while never losing sight of what makes education deeply human: relationships, curiosity, empathy and purpose.

This balance between innovation and humanity is central to ISS Lisbon’s identity. The school brings together a wealth of experience among its staff, leadership and governance, while continuing to explore new ways to prepare students for a changing world.
This visit was both a recognition of what the school has already achieved and a moment to look ahead. With a clear educational vision, a strong international community and continued support from Dukes Education, International Sharing School Lisbon is on a continuous journey of growth with ambition and care.
