Property professionals say interest has been particularly noticeable in ready-to-move-in homes and medium-term rental properties, especially among clients looking for politically stable destinations.

While agencies stress it is still too early to link the trend directly to a sustained increase in property sales, Portugal is increasingly being viewed by some international investors as a secure alternative during a period of global uncertainty.

Industry analysts say destinations such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which have attracted significant international investment in recent years, may now be experiencing greater caution among some buyers following rising regional tensions.

According to luxury real estate groups operating in Portugal, the strongest activity is currently taking place in the upper end of the market, although increased inquiries do not always translate into immediate purchases.

Portugal Sotheby’s Realty said it has observed growing interest from international investors seeking markets associated with stability, security and long-term quality of life.

The Agency and ReCo also reported an increase in inquiries from clients based in Dubai, including investors and developers searching for land opportunities and properties suited to future projects.

At the same time, some buyers have reportedly delayed decisions amid wider geopolitical uncertainty, with agencies noting that global instability can also encourage more cautious investment behaviour.

Market analysts say Portugal continues to attract affluent international buyers due to factors including climate, safety, political stability and relative ease of integration compared with some competing destinations.

Luxury areas such as Lisbon, Cascais, Comporta and parts of the Algarve remain among the country’s strongest-performing premium property markets.

The renewed attention arrives as Portugal’s luxury real estate sector continues to position itself internationally not only around tax advantages, but increasingly around lifestyle, security and long-term residential appeal.
