Promoted by the Aldeia Pintada association, the initiative aims to revive the life the village's threshing floors once had, establishing them as meeting places for both work and socialising.

“Now, just like in the old days, the threshing floor transforms into a stage where everyone is invited to participate. This event aims to be a space for access to new experiences, a stimulus for intergenerational encounters and a means for dialogue through art,” announced the organisation.

This edition highlights the threshing floor of Zé Ferreira, in the heart of the village, which serves as the stage for the three programming sessions.

The first session is on Saturday and is dedicated to traditional dances from around the world.

Starting at 6.30pm, there will be a dance workshop with the Espírito Claro association, followed by a concert by the Folk à Solta Duo, billed as “a cultural journey” through music from Portugal, France, Belgium, Turkey, and Moldova.

“Afterwards, the night continues with a traditional open jam session, for anyone who wants to play, sing, or just stay,” added Aldeia Pintada.

For 12 July, theatre is scheduled at Zé Ferreira's threshing floor, with the play “Have you tried olives?”, a comedy by the Nem Marias Nem Manéis company.

To close the Música na Eira event, the Beira tradition of the tambourine players from the Casa do Povo do Paúl, in Covilhã, Castelo Branco district, will be showcased in the village of Torre on 9 August.

“We are talking about a project of female voices that uses traditional instruments such as the tambourine or the sieve to recover popular literature, in the form of songbooks, nursery rhymes or tongue twisters,” the organisation described.

For Zé Ferreira's threshing floor, therefore, “a living celebration of memory and community expression” is announced.
