The coin will have a face value of €7.50 and will bear the designation "1876-2026. 150 Years of Caixa Geral de Depósitos," as revealed by Executive Digest. The coin will be distributed to the public through credit institutions and the Bank of Portugal's treasuries. Only 30,000 copies of the coin will be made.
The coin will only be valid in Portugal and is part of the tradition of issuing collector's coins to mark dates and institutions relevant to Portuguese history.
Coin characteristics
The heads of the coin will feature the Portuguese coat of arms, superimposed on the armillary sphere, a representative symbol of Portugal. On the right side, the year of transmission appears, while on the left side, there is a legend: "Casa da Moeda" (Mint) and the name of the respective author.
The tails of the coin will feature various symbols of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, reinforcing the institution's visual identity.
