The celebration of America’s birthday is not political and everyone of any background and nationality is welcome to join what promises to be a fantastic evening.

The event, which is organized by afpop Area Event Organizer Jamie and is team but is open to both members and non-members of afpop, will be taking place on Saturday, 4 July from 4pm until 10pm at Torreão on Rua das Virtudes 37.

“It’s sure to be the largest gathering of expats in town and a festive event like no other. We’ve reserved a special venue featuring incredible views of the Douro”, explained Jamie.

Enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, sardines, Super Bock, wine, sangria and more while mingling with friends and taking in the views of the Douro from a building dating back to the 14th century.

The event has been kindly sponsored by Medal Insurance and Identity Abroad, who are offering the first 100 guests a free welcome drink.

Proceeds from the event will benefit SAOM, Serviços de Assistência Organizações de Maria, a private organization that provides services for the elderly, disabled and young adults, as well as assistance to pilgrims on their way to Santiago.

Cost: €20 minimum cash or card at the door toward food and drinks of your choice. Additional tokens can be purchased during the event. The first 100 guests will receive €5 worth of free tokens toward a welcome drink or other menu item.
