With another heatwave approaching, the Directorate-General of Health issued a guide on Monday containing recommendations to protect workers exposed to high temperatures.

The guide covers workplace prevention plans, work organisation, and increased hydration to reduce risks such as accidents, dehydration, and heat-related illnesses.

Health Minister Ana Paula Martins acknowledged concerns about the impending heatwave and the potential impact of high temperatures on mortality rates, as has been observed in other countries.
