This year's edition focuses on "Showcasing Lusophone Culture", bringing together music, dance, food, crafts and traditions from Portuguese-speaking countries and territories.

For four evenings, Lagoa's historic streets will be transformed into a vibrant cultural setting where residents and visitors can experience music, dance, gastronomy, literature, crafts and performing arts from across the Lusophone world. The soft glow of thousands of candles, a signature feature of the event, creates a unique atmosphere as people explore the town centre.

The programme includes live music, street performances, exhibitions, workshops, roaming entertainment, artisan stalls and food vendors, bringing together artists, creators and participants from several Portuguese-speaking countries.

More than a cultural festival, the Market of Cultures... By Candlelight aims to promote dialogue, celebrate diversity and strengthen the ties that unite Lusophone communities through a shared language and heritage.

Organised by the Municipality of Lagoa, the event continues to reinforce the municipality's reputation as a destination for culture, creativity and international exchange, offering a memorable experience in one of the Algarve's most atmospheric settings.

Admission is free throughout the four-day event.
