The orange warning for the districts of Évora, Faro, Beja, Castelo Branco, Beja and Portalegre will be in effect until 11 pm on 8 July, and in Bragança and Guarda until 6 pm on 9 July.

Due to the hot weather, the IPMA has also placed the districts of Viseu, Setúbal, Santarém, Lisbon, Leiria and Coimbra under a yellow warning until 11 pm on 8 July, and Vila Real until 6 pm on 9 July.

The mountainous regions of Madeira Island are also under an orange warning until 6 pm on 9 July due to the hot weather.

The north and south coasts of Madeira Island and Porto Santo will remain under a yellow warning until 6 pm in July due to persistently high maximum temperatures.

The orange warning is issued by IPMA whenever there is a "moderate to high risk weather situation," and the yellow warning is issued when there is a risk to certain weather-dependent activities.
