In a statement, DREM indicated that tourist accommodation – which includes hotels, rural tourism, and local accommodation with more than 10 beds – accounted for 2.4 million guests in 2025, representing a 9% increase over the previous year.
In turn, the number of overnight stays in these establishments reached 12.7 million, representing an 8.3% increase over 2024.
Total revenues increased by 16.6% to €887.1 million and room revenues rose by 17.8% to €637 million, says the Regional Directorate of Statistics.
The average revenue per available room (RevPAR) was €97.03, reflecting a 16.2% year-on-year increase, and the average daily rate (ADR) rose to €123.86, representing a 13.3% increase compared to the previous year.
Traditional hotels remained the predominant sector, with 1.6 million guests and 8.6 million overnight stays, although it recorded its lowest historical share in collective accommodation, at 67.8%.
In contrast, local accommodation registered significant growth of 18.7% in lodging, reaching 3.8 million and accounting for almost 30% of the total overnight stays in collective accommodation in the region.
As for other activities, rural and residential tourism totalled 288,200 overnight stays, up 4%, while the time-sharing segment decreased by 8.2% to 524,500 overnight stays.
