Flight FR1386, operated by a Boeing 737-800, departed Brussels as scheduled but changed course around 45 minutes into the journey while cruising at approximately 33,000 feet. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Paris Beauvais Airport, where emergency services were on standby as a precaution.

During the diversion, the crew transmitted the internationally recognised 7700 emergency squawk, a signal used by aircraft to alert air traffic controllers to a general emergency on board. The code does not indicate the nature or severity of the incident, and can be used in a wide range of situations, including technical issues, medical emergencies or other operational concerns.

At the time of publication, Ryanair had not confirmed the reason for the diversion, and there was no official indication of whether the emergency was caused by a technical problem, a medical incident or another issue.

The aircraft landed safely at Paris Beauvais, where emergency responders met the flight in line with standard procedures for aircraft declaring an emergency.
