Francisco Cabral, ranked 25th in the world doubles ranking, and Théo Arribagé, ranked 21st, only managed to prevail in the super tie-break against Adolfo Daniel Vallejo (71st in the ATP rankings) and Joshua Paris (101st), with scores of 2-6, 6-3 and 10-4, after an hour and 14 minutes of play on the clay court of the Swedish tournament.

The 29-year-old Portuguese tennis player, who last competed alongside Arribagé more than a year ago and is playing in a main circuit tournament alongside the Frenchman for the first time, will compete on 17 July for a place in the final against the pair formed by American Vasil Kirkov and Dutchman Bart Stevens.

Next week, Francisco Cabral will play alongside Nuno Borges – the national number one and who is also competing in the Bastad tournament, but in singles – in the 2026 edition of the Estoril Open, which they won in 2022, becoming the first Portuguese pair to win an ATP doubles title.
